Counsellor Profile: Jenny Anderson

In response to my Christian faith, but working with clients from any faith, my counselling practice is person-centred and integrative. Demonstrating realness and able to draw on a range of models of counselling, I aim to work in an individual, but holistic way, which best suits client’s individual needs.

Led by a client’s personal interests, I can offer opportunities to incorporate art, construction, crafts, engineering, metaphors, nature and other tools into sessions to help explore presenting issues. I’ve found that meeting clients ‘where they are’, promoting an ethically-based and therapeutic relationship which is client-centred, naturally leads to fruitful and collaborative working.

I have experience of working with adults and young people, on a short or long-term basis, with a wide range of issues including abuse, anxiety, childhood issues, depression, self-esteem, self-harm, PTSD, suicidal thoughts and trauma, with an emphasis on client safety and stability.

I trained at United Churches Healing Ministry in Huddersfield gaining my Advanced Diploma in Counselling Level 4, supplementing this training with short courses and workshops in various techniques and models, including trauma informed practice. I am a Registered Counsellor Member of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am available for appointments on Tuesdays.
