Counsellor in Training
Jane Cavanna
Hi, my name is Jane
I am a trainee counsellor with an ‘integrative’ approach. This means I draw from a range of therapeutic models, adapting my work to suit the unique needs of each person. At the heart of my practice is the belief in building a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space, where the person can begin to explore whatever has been troubling them. I’m committed to supporting people in gaining greater understanding and clarity, and to working collaboratively at a pace that feels right for each individual. One size does not fit all and everyone has their own unique journey.
Personal Introduction
Experience
I have spent many years of my life abroad in Israel and Cyprus, and have also travelled widely for work. Returning to the UK in my thirties, I became an associate pastor of a city centre church, supporting my husband, who was the senior pastor. During that time, I launched several social concern projects for the local community. I also sat with all kinds of people and had the privilege of hearing them open up something of their life journeys with me.
In recent years, I have also offered talking therapy while working in a women’s refuge.
